A free Canvas, header, avatar and cover art tool for Spotify artists, made by one independent artist who got tired of paying for eight seconds of video.
I am Anton Zinoviev, an independent artist. I release my own music on Spotify, and every release needs the same set of images: a Canvas for the tracks, a header and an avatar for the profile, cover art for the distributor.
Every tool I found for that job wanted something. A subscription, an account, a watermark on the free tier, or a cap that gave you three exports a month and 720p unless you paid. For eight seconds of video, none of that made sense to me, so I built the thing I wanted to use and left it open for everyone else.
What it does
- Spotify Canvas: a 9:16 MP4, 3 to 8 seconds, 1080 × 1920 by default, with an optional crossfade so the loop has no visible cut.
- Artist header 2660 × 1140, avatar 750 × 750, cover art up to 3000 × 3000, exported as JPEG.
- A built-in Pexels library, free for commercial use, for anyone who has no footage yet.
- A file checker that reads a finished Canvas and tells you whether it matches what Spotify asks for.
What it does not do
- No account, no email, no login of any kind.
- No watermark, no export limit, no paid tier that unlocks the good version.
- No AI generation. The tool works with your material, not with a prompt.
- No upload. Encoding runs in your browser through WebCodecs, so your files stay on your machine.
- No cookies and no screen recording. Traffic is counted anonymously so I can tell whether anyone actually uses this; the privacy page lists every field.
How it stays free
There is nothing to pay for. The page is static, the work happens on your computer, and the only running cost is the domain. That is also the honest limit of the promise: if I ever add something that costs money to run, it will be a separate thing, and what works today will keep working the same way.
